Kuboto tracktors (Kubota Corporation), made in Japan are now immensly popular in the US thanks to a good quality and trackter supply and low prices.

Kubota Corporation of Japan has manufactured agricultural farming machinery and equipment supplies for a long time. Kuboto tractors made their debut on the Northern American market in the year 1969. A few years later - 1974 - the group launched a 12 horsepower 4-wheel-drive tractor on the American market which was the first small tracktor on the US market with 4-wheel drive. At that time, only larger tracter models used drive on all four wheels.
The Kuboto (Kubota) became immensely popular due to good quality and a low price. This encouraged a growing side import from Japan to the US with tractors lacking the regulated safety parts required (PTO shields, seat belts etc) and the Kubota group managed to stop it by winning a lawsuit against private importers.

A look at the Kuboto Grand L30 model range
The L30 range was introduced in 2002 and there were six models - the L3130, L3430, L3830, L4330, L4630 and the L5030. All the models use Kubotas own diesel engine array with high torque output. The engine power is stated by the first two digits in the model code (so the L3130 is a 31hp engine) and the two following are always 30 - showing that it belongs into the L30 range of tractors.The tracktors in this range come with well designed factory made cabs which is a novelty for tracters in this class. The cab is air tight thanks to clever mounting, the glass is bent and there are no frames around the doors impairing visibility. With the air tight cab there is obviously also a good temperature and humidity control system.
You can have the models in this range with different transmissions, there is a hydrostatic (HST), an electronic clutchless (GST) and a completely synchronized manual (FST) transmission. The HST hydrostatic transmission is Kuboto's own.
The GST comes with 12 forward gears and 8 reverse and an optional creep speed on some of the models thus allowing 24 + 16 speeds. The FST has 8+8, it is fully synchronized and is equipped with a dual cone synchronizing shuttle for improved durability and easier shifting of shuttles.
There is a three point hitch with external twin hydraulic lifter cylinders which is unusual for a low hp tractor like this. The hydraulic lift is improved by up to 20% if compared to the older Grand L types. Standard on the L30's is hydraulic and independent PTO with mid PTO as option (for all of the models).
